Project Evaluation Process

• Initial Inquiry – Review the general nature of the matter, technology involved, parties, law firms, deadlines, and requested expert witness or consulting support.

• Conflict Check – Conduct a preliminary conflict review before discussing confidential details or receiving protected case materials.

• Scope Discussion – Clarify the issues to be evaluated, such as infringement, non-infringement, invalidity, prior art, product design, technical rebuttal, or expert report preparation.

• Document and Evidence Review – Review patents, claim charts, expert reports, prior art, technical drawings, product documents, photographs, standards, test data, and other relevant materials.

• Technical Assessment – Analyze the lighting system, optical design, electronics, mechanical features, manufacturing considerations, and applicable engineering principles.

• Product or Component Inspection – When needed, inspect physical products, lamp assemblies, lenses, housings, circuit boards, optical features, or exemplar components.

• Preliminary Opinion Development – Identify key technical strengths, weaknesses, assumptions, and issues that may affect the expert analysis or litigation strategy.

• Attorney Collaboration – Work with the legal team to explain technical issues, evaluate case themes, prepare questions, and refine the scope of opinions.

• Report and Deliverable Preparation – Prepare expert reports, rebuttal reports, claim charts, technical memoranda, demonstratives, or supporting analysis as required by the matter.

• Deposition and Trial Support – Provide preparation and testimony support, including deposition review, cross-examination input, exhibit development, and trial-ready technical explanations.
